Perfect for adding a crunchy texture to your favorite desserts.
Crumbly Mixture
- 1 cup (125 g) - all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (107 g) - light brown sugar
- ½ tsp. - baking powder
- ½ tsp. - ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. - kosher salt
- ¾ cup (67 g) - old-fashioned oats
- ½ cup (1 stick) - unsalted butter at room temperature, cut into pieces
- Step 1 Preheat your oven to a toasty 375°F and place the rack in the middle.
- Step 2 Grab a large bowl and whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of light brown sugar, ½ tsp. of baking powder, ½ tsp. of ground cinnamon, and ¼ tsp. of kosher salt. Add the butter pieces (½ cup, or 1 stick), and, using your fingertips, blend until pea-sized lumps form. Toss in ¾ cup of old-fashioned oats, and continue mixing until it resembles a crumble topping. Let it chill for 15 minutes.
- Step 3 Spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes. Then, stir and toss the crumble using a metal spatula. Rotate the pan and bake for another 8 minutes, or until it turns dark golden brown. Let it cool.
- Step 4 Store your cooled crumble in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Enjoy it as a delightful addition to any dessert.
